Microchipping

Microchipping your pet is quick, easy and painless, and is the best way to ensure that they are returned to you if they ever get lost or have an accident.

Legal requirment

It is a legal requirement to microchip your dog by the age of eight weeks. While it isn’t a legal requirement with other pets, we do recommend it in case they ever get lost or are stolen.

What's involved

The process involves a small microchip being inserted under the skin, usually between the shoulder blades, via a simple injection.

Should your pet become separated from you, the chip can be read to access your details, allowing them to be returned to you swiftly.

It is crucial that you keep your personal details up to date on the national database, www.pettrac.co.uk. If your details are incorrect, it becomes much more difficult to reunite you with your pet.
